Welcome to Kingswood United Methodist Church.
THERE IS A PLACE FOR YOU
Every Sunday morning we worship together in a service that consists of music (traditional and contemporary), prayer, and the preaching of God's word. After each service there is a time of fellowship with refreshments. EVERYONE IS WELCOME! After fellowship time, there are Sunday School classes for all ages.
Besides Sunday mornings, there is a prayer and worship service called Hope and Healing on Thursday evenings and there several groups, like Kingswood Youth Fellowship, United Methodist Men, prayer groups, and the choir and praise teams. If you are wondering where your best fit might be, call or stop by the office and chat with a staff member because THERE IS A PLACE FOR YOU to be and grow in the knowledge and activity of Christ's love.
A Word from the Pastor
Welcome to the Kingswood UMC. As relative newcomers, my wife Pam and I testify Kingswood UMC is a refreshing community of Christian faith in which to worship and fellowship, be nurtured, serve in compassionate missions and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Kingswood UMC is growing through a renewed relationship with God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. We are being restored in the image, vision, purpose, plan and power of God. Our restoration is grounded in the practice of Christian disciplines, applying God’s Word in all things and holding each other accountable.
Many people are overcoming shattered dreams, broken relationships and marketplace disappointments and experiencing a revitalization of hope, relationships, vocation and living God imagined dreams. As a resurrection people, we pray our transformation by the graces of God become contagious.
Relationships within and beyond our walls are extremely important to us as a church family. We are blessed through loving people, learning stories, sharing celebrations and bearing crosses. We enjoy being drawn together in serving together with our Lord, other Christians and congregations and the visitors God brings into our pathways. We are beginning to dare living and ministering beyond our comfort zones and being on the cutting edge of adventures God is calling, leading and providing for us to share with others.
Our vision includes transforming people of the world starting in our own neighborhoods, work and marketplaces, social networks and community. We are determined to be a community of Jesus Christ practicing a culture of honor. This community seeks to know God as God is, not as we want God to be. This culture seeks to demonstrate we value all people as God’s creation.
A culture of honor also dares to speak, share and stand upon truth, truth grounded in the Bible, offered with compassion, but not compromise. This community does not abandon people but loves, prays and engages with people until they experience the transforming love of Jesus Christ, are shaped by His Word and led in the knowledge, gifts and power of the Holy Spirit.
Our quest is not to get to heaven but for the kingdom of God to come on earth, in and through each of us as it is in heaven. We invite you to come and explore life, love, faith, and the Church as God imagines. Please help us become an authentic church which models love, truth and faith whereby people become disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our hope is the current members and ministries become the foundation for making new disciples, planting new ministries and exploring new missions fields. Our prayer is old and new friendships lead to opening our hearts, minds and doors to many in our community for sharing the Good News of salvation, healing and God imagined life with others.
Living a God imagined dream and life,
Pastor Jeff V. Zirkle
